...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 11 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...
* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
* WHERE...Columbia, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montour,
Northumberland, Schuylkill, and York Counties.
* WHEN...From noon today to 11 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gusty winds will be common today ahead of an
approaching cold front. Scattered to numerous showers and
thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening in the
Advisory area and could produce locally stronger gusts. Severe
Thunderstorm Warnings may be needed for thunderstorm wind gusts >
58 mph. A few tornadoes are also possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle.
Secure outdoor items: trash cans, patio furniture, and other loose outdoor items.
Charge phones and flashlights.
Know where to go if a tornado warning is issued (lowest floor, interior room).
