Description
Special Weather Statement issued March 15 at 4:54PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL
At 454 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Lake Louisa to near Bay Lake to Osceola
Heritage Park to near West Lake Toho. Movement was northeast at 40
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Orlando, Deltona, Kissimmee, Sanford, and Apopka.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Seek safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a
thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!
