...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM THURSDAY FOR MUCH
OF NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO DUE TO GUSTY WINDS AND
LOW HUMIDITY...
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH
EARLY FRIDAY EVENING OVER THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS DUE TO GUSTY WINDS
AND LOW HUMIDITY...
.Critical fire weather conditions will develop this afternoon
east of the central mountain chain due to well above average
temperatures, deep atmospheric mixing, gusty westerly winds, very
low humidity values, and dry fuels. This includes Interstate 40
from Clines Corners eastward to the Texas border and areas along
and east of the Interstate 25 corridor from Glorieta northward to
the Colorado border.
Gusty winds will redevelop over the central highlands on Friday,
particularly over the central highlands from Clines Corners to
Santa Rosa. Temperatures will climb a few degrees more with very
low humidity also redeveloping Friday.
* AREA AND TIMING...The Northeast Plains (Zone 104), Northeast
Highlands (Zone 123), and East Central Plains (Zone 126) from
noon through 8 PM Thursday.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west 20 to 30 mph with occasional
gusts of 35 to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 6 and 13 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
