Description
The City of Krum would like to provide an update on construction activities for the Hopkins Road Realignment Project near FM 1173. Crews have reached the phase of the project where storm drainage must be installed across Hopkins Road, which will require a temporary road closure.
Below is a summary of how impacted residents will be able to access their property during construction.
March 23 - March 30, 2026
Contractors will install a 6’ x 4’ box culvert just north of the residential and gas well driveway. During this time, traffic from The Retreat, the residential driveway, and the gas well will only be able to travel south to FM 1173.
March 31 – April 2, 2026
Contractors will install a double-barrel 24” reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) just south of The Retreat driveway. During this time, traffic from The Retreat, the residential driveway, and the gas well will only be able to travel north to Victory Way / Fox Hollow Rd.
The city is also coordinating these closures and detours with Krum ISD to help minimize impacts to school traffic. Please use caution in the area and follow all posted traffic control signs. The city appreciates everyone’s patience as work continues on this important infrastructure project.
