THURSDAY TRAFFIC TIPS
We are beginning a new feature, sharing important traffic tips.
This week is Daylight Savings time. Now that we will see a bit more sun instead of snow, we wanted to take time to remind our followers that drivers will be seeing more pedestrians. Our friends at AAA are emphasizing the importance of pedestrian safety through shared responsibilities, improved vehicle technology, and practical safety tips for both pedestrians and drivers.
Shared Responsibility
Both drivers and pedestrians play crucial roles in ensuring safety on the roads.
Drivers must be vigilant, especially in areas with high pedestrian traffic, and should always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
Pedestrians are encouraged to wear light or reflective clothing, stay in well-lit areas, and use sidewalks whenever possible. They should also look left, right, and then left again before crossing the street, even at crosswalks, and never assume that drivers will stop for them.
We are a very walkable community and want to remind everyone that regardless of where you are driving in the Borough to remember to obey all motor vehicle laws, including stopping at all stop signs, adhering to the speed limit, do not drive recklessly and most importantly watch out for pedestrians.
