Cold Weather Advisory issued February 22 at 11:35AM EST until February 23 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
as 25 expected. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as
low as 26 possible. A hard freeze is also possible.
* WHERE...Coastal Citrus, Coastal Hernando, Coastal Levy, Inland
Citrus, Inland Hernando, Inland Levy, and Sumter Counties.
* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 3 AM to 10 AM EST
Monday. For the Freeze Watch, from late Monday night through
Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with
prolonged exposure. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops,
other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
