SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARATION: WEST YORK BOROUGH
The West York Borough Administration is officially declaring a Snow Emergency effective today, Saturday, February 21, 2026.
This declaration is in response to the light snow expected tonight and more significant accumulation forecast for Sunday. Currently, it is 38°F and cloudy in West York, with snow chances increasing to 35% overnight.
📍 AFFECTED ROUTES
This emergency specifically impacts the following Primary Routes:
Market Street
Highland Avenue
King Street
Hoke Street
🅿️ PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Deadline: All vehicles must be removed from the streets listed above by 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 22.
Enforcement: Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced starting at 8:00 a.m. Sunday to allow for effective plowing and emergency vehicle access.
Towing: Vehicles remaining on these routes after the deadline are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.
ADDITIONAL PARKING LOCATIONS
Residents living on or near the affected primary routes (Market, Highland, King, and Hoke) may utilize the York Fairgrounds for off-street parking.
Access Points: Please enter through Gate 4 (Southeast neighborhoods) or Gate 6 (Northwest neighborhoods). Availability: Parking is available immediately to help you clear the primary routes. Reminder: Vehicles must be moved to these lots or other off-street locations by 8:00 a.m. Sunday, February 22.
