Extreme Cold Warning issued February 7 at 6:56PM EST until February 8 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Binghamton NY
* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below zero.
* WHERE...Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest wind chills are expected over the
exposed, higher elevations overnight into Sunday morning.
Northwest winds will be gusting between 30 to 45 mph at times
overnight. Isolated power outages are possible. Wind gusts
gradually diminish on Sunday, falling below 30 mph for most
locations.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
