Description
Snow Squall Warning issued February 7 at 8:01AM EST until February 7 at 8:15AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 800 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located over Swedesboro,
or 10 miles east of Wilmington, moving southeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Flash freeze on roads. Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty
winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly
falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater
than 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.
Interstates 95, 295 and 495 and the New Jersey Turnpike will be
affected by this squall.
Locations impacted include...
Chester, Glassboro, Westtown, Pitman, Clayton, Carneys Point,
Paulsboro, Woodstown, Swedesboro, Elmer, Arden, Cheyney, Elam,
Chelsea, Beckett, Chester Township, Concordville, Mullica Hill,
Gibbstown, and Olivet.
Wet roadways will quickly freeze. Black ice will cause roads,
bridges, and overpasses to become slick and dangerous. Slow down and
be prepared for a sudden loss of traction.
Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
