Southern Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania...
* Until 815 AM EST.
* At 744 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located over Chelsea, or
9 miles southeast of West Chester, moving southeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Flash freeze on roads. Intense bursts of heavy snow and
gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility
rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts
greater than 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.
Interstates 95, 295 and 495 and the New Jersey Turnpike will be
affected by this squall.
Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, West Chester, Chester, Glassboro, Coatesville, Westtown,
Pitman, Clayton, Carneys Point, Downingtown, Swarthmore, Paulsboro,
Penns Grove, Woodstown, Swedesboro, Elmer, Arden, Cheyney,
Talleyville, and Elam.
Wet roadways will quickly freeze. Black ice will cause roads,
bridges, and overpasses to become slick and dangerous. Slow down and
be prepared for a sudden loss of traction.
Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
