...Elevated Fire Danger Today Across Portions of East Central
Florida...
The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM EST this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Volusia, Lake, Orange, Seminole, Brevard,
Osceola, Okeechobee, Indian River, Saint Lucie.
* WIND...West winds around 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph.
* HUMIDITY...25 to 35 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
