Freeze Watch issued January 31 at 12:11AM CST until February 1 at 9:00AM CST by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills,
between 14 and 24 degrees expected. For the Freeze Watch, Hard
Freeze with temperatures between 19 and 24 degrees with similar
wind chills.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas.
* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 10 AM CST this
morning. For the Freeze Watch, from this evening through Sunday
morning.
* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. Frost and freeze conditions
could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage
unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
