Extreme Cold Watch issued January 29 at 5:30PM EST until February 1 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Tampa Bay Ruskin FL

* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Watch, dangerously cold wind chills as
low as 8 possible. For the Freeze Watch, a Hard Freeze with
temperatures as low as 20 possible except for inland Manatee
county, where temperatures will be as low as 30.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Florida.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.
