Extreme Cold Warning issued January 27 at 2:31AM CST until January 27 at 9:00AM CST by NWS Fort Worth TX
* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
as low as 5 above zero. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold
wind chills as low as 12 expected.
* WHERE...Bell, Coryell, Falls, Lampasas, McLennan, and Milam
Counties.
* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 9 AM CST this morning.
For the Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight to 9 AM CST
Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 5 above zero could result
in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
Cold temperatures will become life threatening to people and animals
outside without adequate warmth or shelter. Damage to plumbing is
likely if pipes are not properly drained or insulated.
Have an emergency kit and enough supplies ready in case of power
outages.
Make frequent checks on vulnerable family, friends, and neighbors.
Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or
grills inside.
Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.
