🆕️January Snowstorm Update ❄️
Thank you to the residents that cooperated with the declared snow emergency! We understand it's not easy but your cooperation helps us better restore snow covered roads.
With a fast moving storm dumping almost 12 inches of snow and a layer of relentless sleet, our West York Borough Public Works crew was out tirelessly plowing, salting, and keeping our community moving forward safely. WE WILL BE BACK OUT to pushback snow to the curb line throughout the day until 8PM tonight. 2 trucks needed a quick mechanical pit stop with the other addressing alleys.
WE CAN'T THANK OUR TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS ENOUGH, THANK YOU to our dedicated teams, West York Borough Administrative Department for ensuring the secondary routes had signage before the storm, West York Borough Public Works, West York Borough Police Department, West York Borough Career Firefighters,and West York Borough Emergency Management Office for their hard work during the storm keeping us all safe and helping residents in need. TEAM work and working together has always been our strength. Also a special shout out to the volunteers and neighbors who helped residents shovel out! Thank you!
We also want to thank the York County Office of Emergency Management's team for their support leading up to the storm as well as the community stakeholders that allowed residents to park during the storm
Our team today is finishing up critical areas of snow cleanup and removal. We kindly ask that residents please do not throw snow into the street or place items in the street.
The snow emergency is now scheduled to expire early, parking will be restored to primary and secondary routes this evening Monday January 26, 2026 at 8PM.
We kindly ask you to remove your vehicle(s) from any of the borough designated Free Parking areas by 8PM. tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27.
