Winter Storm Warning issued January 25 at 12:41PM EST until January 26 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 14
and 24 inches with up to 30 inches possible in the eastern
Catskills, Berkshires and southern Greens.
* WHERE...All of eastern New York and western New England.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult to impossible due to snow
covered roads and very low visibilities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour,
locally 3 inches per hour, are expected through this evening. Snow
will become lighter in intensity overnight into Monday morning and
continue for much of the day before tapering off Monday evening.
Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat
will keep you from losing your body heat.
Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
