Special Weather Statement issued January 25 at 8:25AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ
As of 825 AM, doppler radar and trained spotter reports indicate
moderate to heavy snow is moving across the area this morning.
Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour will be common, which
will reduce the visibility to one half of a mile or less.
Given the very cold conditions, roads are snow covered and
slippery. The higher rate of snowfall will make it more difficult
for road crews to keep up.
Some sleet will start to mix in from the south as the morning
continues and this will slow the snow accumulations, however it
will tend to make road conditions worse. If you must travel, use
extra caution.
