Extreme Cold Warning issued January 25 at 12:43AM MST until January 26 at 9:00AM MST by NWS Albuquerque NM
* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 5 to 15 below
expected.
* WHERE...Curry County, De Baca County, Roosevelt County, Chaves
County Plains, and Southwest Chaves County.
* WHEN...From 7 PM Sunday evening to 9 AM MST Monday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result
in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Those experiencing impacts from the most
recent winter event like power outages should seek warming shelters
or other means of preventing exposure to these cold elements.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go
outside.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
