Winter Storm Warning issued January 24 at 3:47AM MST until January 25 at 11:00AM MST by NWS Albuquerque NM
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations between 3
and 7 inches except 12 to 18 inches above 9,000 feet in the
Sacramento mountains. Light ice accumulation of a light glaze.
* WHERE...Much of central to east central New Mexico, including
Interstate 40 from Tijeras to Santa Rosa to the Texas border.
* WHEN...Until 11 AM MST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will become very difficult. Tire traction will be
reduced. Extend the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle
in front of you.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerously cold temperatures will also
accompany this winter storm. Temperatures will be coldest Sunday
and Monday mornings when wind chills will drop below zero. A light
glaze of ice will make roads very slick.
