Hello Hatboro Residents and Property Owners.
As we all know some snow is coming sometime Saturday night into Sunday and possibly as late as Monday.
Due to the impacts from this storm the Borough has made some decisions that will affect our operations. We have tried to hold off as long as possible in making these calls but in an effort to make sure our residents and business owners have sufficient time to plan as well as give notice the following will be in effect:
1. A Snow Emergency has been declared effective 6 PM on Saturday night. If you live or own a business on a snow emergency route, all vehicles must be removed. Posts are scheduled that list these roads in case you miss, the info is also on the Borough website at www.myhatboro.org
2. Borough Hall staff will be working remotely on Monday, January 26th. Borough Hall will be closed but staff can still be reached via phone at 215-443-9100 or email. Emails can be sent to the Borough Manager at dhegele@myhatboro.org and she will coordinate responses with appropriate staff. The Borough Manager will also respond to emails over the weekend as well as sending out necessary information on any updates via facebook or savvy citizen. There will be no updates on the Borough website after working hours today (Friday).
3. The scheduled January Council meeting for Monday, January 26th has been cancelled. Stay tuned for a new date.
4. Trash and Recycling have been cancelled for Monday, January 26th. This is for all residents with Monday trash and recycling collection. While this decision is a difficult one because our Public Works staff prides themselves on collecting trash and plowing snow, it cannot be done this time around. Due to the amount of snow, the timing of the snow and the CDL driving requirements for our staff, the priority right now is the cleanup of the Borough and maintaining the roads.
Good News is there will be recycling collection for those with Monday only recycling on Wednesday, January 28th. Please have your recycling out on that day and we will get it. Do not worry if you miss this notice, you can give us a call on Wednesday and as long as you have Monday recycling only, we will come back. If you have any other day other than Monday, we will get your recycling on those days.
Thursday will be a double collection day for trash so please be patient with our staff that day and we will get your trash. Please be reminded our PW staff are the same guys that collect your trash and recycling and plow your streets.
