Description
It’s going to get cold this weekend, but we’re taking steps to prepare, and we encourage residents to do the same!
🛣️ STREETS 🛣️
Our Streets Division will place de-icing aggregate on areas that are susceptible to ice . We’ll also have personnel on standby to re-apply if needed. (State roadways will be handled by TxDOT).
However, please drive cautiously and stay alert just in case!
🚰 UTILITIES 🚰
Public Works will have staff ready to address any leaks that might come up. Residents can protect their pipes by following these tips:
💧 Please allow only the furthest faucet from your meter to slowly drip. If you live in an apartment, only let one faucet drip in your unit.
💧 Cover the faucets outside the house to keep them from freezing.
💧 Open up your cabinets in your house and keep your house warm.
💧 Turn off your sprinkler/irrigation lines.
Our City Hall Auditorium will be open beginning at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 to accommodate anyone needing a warm place to stay during the upcoming inclement weather. For more information, please feel free to call us at (830) 583-2230.
All City of Kenedy Offices will resume business hours on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. (noon)
