Winter Weather Advisory issued January 23 at 12:49AM EST until January 23 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, lake effect snow.
Additional snow accumulations 1 to 2 inches in the most persistent
lake snows, mainly early this morning. Winds gusting as high as 35
mph will produce blowing and drifting snow. For the Winter Storm
Watch, heavy snow with significant accumulations likely.
* WHERE...Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. The greatest
additional accumulations this morning will be across western and
northern Chautauqua County and northwest Cattaraugus County.
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 1 PM EST this
afternoon. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Saturday night
through Monday evening.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult with snow covered roads.
Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.
Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling,
be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.

become difficult, so plan accordingly.
