Description
Snow Emergency will go into effect beginning Saturday, January 24 at 12:00 PM until Monday, January 26 at 6:00 PM for Jackson Township, York County, PA.
Chapter 127, Article IV of the Jackson Township Ordinance defines Snow Emergencies as any time snow removal is conducted by the Township Personnel either by plowing or by the spreading of cinders, salt or antiskid materials.
So, with a plowable snow event forecasted for the weekend, all vehicles must be removed from on street parking to allow the roads to be cleared from curb to curb. Plowing snow is a very tedious and stressful task. Please help make this task a bit easier for our Township Public Works employees. If everyone cooperates the streets get cleared better and faster. Failure to comply with this section of the Jackson Township Ordinance may result in a citation for violations of this article.
Also, please remember sidewalks are to be cleared within 24 hours after the snow event has ceased.
