Description
As we start a new year, the City of Lake Helen would like to remind residents of the guidelines for operating golf carts on City-owned roads and streets.
✔️ Golf carts must display a current City of Lake Helen permit tag
✔️ Permits are $25 per golf cart and require an inspection by the Police Department
✔️ Permits must be renewed annually
✔️ Per City ordinance, golf cart operators must have a valid driver’s license
To allow time for everyone to get up to date, residents who are not currently in compliance are asked to come into compliance by Friday, February 27th, 2026.
Our goal is to keep our community safe while helping residents enjoy the convenience of golf cart use. For questions or to schedule an inspection, please contact the Lake Helen Police Department.
