Winter Storm Warning issued January 22 at 11:42AM CST until January 25 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
* WHAT...Accumulations of 1/10 to 1/4 inch of ice likely across the
warning area. Isolated amounts of 1/4 to 1/2 inch are possible
across the Hill Country. In addition, dangerously cold
temperatures are expected Saturday night through Monday morning.
* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas.
* WHEN...From 6 AM Saturday to noon CST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain could begin as early as
Saturday morning over the Hill Country and Saturday afternoon and
evening elsewhere.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can
be obtained by calling 800-452-9292, or by going to drivetexas.org.
Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.
