Description
In preparation for the forecasted weather event Cumberland Township has issued a Snow and Ice Emergency Effective 5PM January 24th, 2026. Residents are advised to take the following actions to ensure safety and facilitate efficient snow removal:

Parking and Vehicle Removal
• Remove All Vehicles: All motor vehicles must be removed from any Cumberland Township Road or right-of-way.
• Enforcement: Vehicles remaining on the road that impede snow removal operations are subject to a $50 fine plus costs and may be towed at the owner's expense.
• Safety Equipment: Driving on designated snow emergency routes during this period requires vehicles to be equipped with snow tires or chains.

Resident Responsibilities
• Fire Hydrants & Ramps: Residents are asked to shovel out fire hydrants and handicapped access ramps near their homes.
• Snow Disposal: It is strictly prohibited to throw or blow snow back into the streets.

Township Operations
• Deployment: The Cumberland Township Maintenance Department is deploying all available personnel, plows, and contracted services to treat the 50 miles of township roads.
• Forecast: Heavy snow is expected in the region on January 25, 2026, with a 75% chance of precipitation and localized accumulations possible.
