Extreme Cold Watch issued January 22 at 7:45AM CST until January 26 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility one quarter mile or
less in dense fog. For the Extreme Cold Watch, dangerously cold
wind chills as low as 6 above possible.
* WHERE...Atascosa, De Witt, Karnes, and Lavaca Counties.
* WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 10 AM CST this morning.
For the Extreme Cold Watch, from Saturday evening through Monday
morning.
* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 2 degrees below zero
could result in hypothermia or frostbite on exposed skin if
precautions are not taken. Extreme cold will become life
threatening and likely damage unprotected pipes and put livestock
at risk.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights, and leave
plenty of distance ahead of you.
