Description
White Haven Borough is pleased to share several important project updates made possible through recently awarded grant funding. These projects reflect the Borough’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing public spaces, and investing in community resources for residents.
Chemung Street Improvements
Chemung Street, from Hazle Street to Cherry Street, is scheduled to be paved, along with associated drainage improvements. Funding for this project was awarded through a Community Development Block Grant. This work will help improve roadway conditions and address drainage concerns in the area.
Stormwater and Main Street Projects
White Haven Borough has been awarded a stormwater grant to repair a collapsed pipe located along Route 940 near the I-80 bridge. This critical repair will improve stormwater management and roadway safety in that corridor.
In addition, Phase 1 of the Main Street Streetscape Project is set to begin. This phase will focus on initial improvements to enhance the appearance, walkability, and functionality of Main Street. Funding for this work is being provided through a combination of PennDOT Multimodal Transportation Funds, DCED grants, and Local Share Account (LSA) funding.
Library Improvements
The White Haven Library has received funding to complete the second floor of the building. This project will expand and enhance library services for the community. Bid advertisements for this work will be released shortly.
White Haven Borough appreciates the continued support of residents and funding partners. Additional information and updates will be shared as these projects move forward.
