If you have a failed furnace or problems that mean you cannot stay safe during this cold snap, the following resources are available.
For immediate cold weather help in the Pittsburgh/Allegheny County area, dial 211 or text your ZIP code to 898-211 to reach PA 211 for shelters, warming centers, and heating assistance. You can also find emergency shelters and resources via Allegheny Connect by visiting their website and looking for winter shelter details. The Salvation Army also offers disaster relief, food, and shelter in Western PA, including for cold weather emergencies.
And please remember, during cold snaps, check on vulnerable neighbors (elderly, sick, children) for warmth, food, and medicine, and bring all pets indoors
