The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Snow Squall Warning for...
Southeastern Allegheny County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Northwestern Fayette County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Northeastern Greene County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Southwestern Indiana County in west central Pennsylvania...

* Until 145 PM EST.

* At 1255 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
from over Plum to 5 miles north of Waynesburg, or along a line from
over Penn Hills to 5 miles north of Waynesburg, moving east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
greater than 35 mph.

SOURCE...Doppler radar and webcams.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

* Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Bethel Park, Monroeville, Greensburg,
McKeesport, Uniontown, Jeannette, Latrobe, Connellsville,
Waynesburg, Gastonville, Plum, West Mifflin, Baldwin, Murrysville,
Wilkinsburg, Whitehall, South Park Township and Munhall.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 24 and 57.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 14 and 29.
Interstate 376 between mile markers 75 and 84. Pennsylvania Turnpike
between mile markers 48 and 86.

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.

There is no safe place on a highway when a snow squall hits.
Visibility and traction are immediately lost in whiteout conditions,
making it difficult or impossible to slow down and avoid stopped
vehicles. Delay travel or safely exit the highway before the snow
squall arrives.
