Description
Snow Squall Warning issued January 19 at 12:45PM EST until January 19 at 1:15PM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA

At 1245 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located 8 miles northeast
of Slippery Rock, or 7 miles east of Grove City, moving east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
greater than 35 mph.

SOURCE...Doppler radar and webcams.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

Locations impacted include...
Grove City, Slippery Rock, Harrisville, Plain Grove Township,
Emlenton, Clintonville, St. Petersburg, Eau Claire, Harlansburg,
Kennerdell, Barkeyville, Foxburg, Volant, Cherry Valley, Boyers and
Cranberry Township.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 13 and 50.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 105 and 118.

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.

There is no safe place on a highway when a snow squall hits.
Visibility and traction are immediately lost in whiteout conditions,
making it difficult or impossible to slow down and avoid stopped
vehicles. Delay travel or safely exit the highway before the snow
squall arrives.
