Description
Special Weather Statement issued January 14 at 5:19PM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA
As a cold front crosses the region this evening, rain is forecast
to change to snow. Up to an inch or so of accumulation is
expected through midnight. Temperatures will fall into the 20s by
that time as well. Any untreated roads, especially those with
lingering moisture, may become slick from ice and accumulating
snow. This is especially true for bridges and overpasses.
Use caution when driving later this evening after the changeover
to snow. Plan on extra time to reach your destination. If you
encounter icy roads, slow down and increase the distance between
your vehicle and those that surround yours. Also, be careful
walking outdoors tonight as icy patches on sidewalks and other
surfaces are likely.
