High Wind Warning issued January 9 at 12:45AM EST until January 9 at 10:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
expected. Strongest gusts likely between 3 pm and 7 pm.
* WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Northern Erie, Genesee, and
Wyoming Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
Avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees. If possible,
remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
