Description
Montgomery County’s construction project for the replacement of Montgomery County Bridge 38, W. Moreland Ave. over Branch of Pennypack Creek has begun in Upper Moreland Township and the Borough of Hatboro. The bridge is located on W. Moreland Avenue, between Flamingo Road (Upper Moreland) and Broad Street (Hatboro), adjacent to the Hatboro Memorial Swimming Pool. W. Moreland Avenue has remained open through the initial phase of the project, which consists of site clearing and utility relocations.
The contractor, H&K Group, is expected to post the PennDOT approved detour for the project on January 12, 2026. Demolition of the bridge is expected to begin shortly thereafter.
Once demolition begins, the bridge will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians at that time and remain in place through the completion of the project. Additional details regarding the project site and detour can be viewed below. The project is expected to be completed in December 2027.
