Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 31 at 3:55PM EST until January 1 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations
between 5 and 10 inches, with locally up to 12 inches. Winds
gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Crawford, Northern Erie, and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions will impact holiday travel.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will return to the region this evening.
A snow squall will likely produce a short period of 1 to 2 inch
per hour snowfall rates during mid evening. Snow showers will then
continue overnight and into Friday, especially in southeastern
Erie and northern Crawford Counties.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
