📢 Project Announcement: Bell Street Pedestrian Bridge Reconstruction
Together, Lawrence Park Township and the Borough of Wesleyville are pleased to announce the award of $1.1 million in grant funding for the reconstruction of the Bell Street Pedestrian Bridge along the Water Street Corridor.

This significant investment builds upon a previously awarded $100,000 Erie County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) secured by municipal staff to support improvements along the corridor.
The project will deliver far more than a replacement bridge span.

Planned improvements include:
Full-depth reconstruction of bridge foundations
Enhanced pedestrian approaches
New lighting for safety and visibility
Streambank restoration and landscaping
Additional site and corridor improvements

Fourmile Creek can be powerful during high-water events, and this project is being designed with long-term resilience in mind. Our goal is to construct a bridge that will safely serve residents for generations—just as the original bridge did for nearly 100 years.
