Description
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Inglis is seeking interested, qualified electors to apply to fill the Commission Seat until the 2026 Town Election. You must reside within the incorporated Town of Inglis to apply for this vacancy.
Pursuant to the Town Charter, Section 3. - Filling vacancies
In the event of a vacancy occurring for any reason whatsoever in the members of the Town Commission, or as to the office of the Mayor, except at the close of a regular term, it shall be the duty of the remaining members of the Town Commission at the next regular meeting, or as soon thereafter as possible following the declaration of such vacancy, to select a duly qualified citizen to fill said vacancy until the next general election. If a majority of said remaining members are unable to agree upon the selection to fill said vacancy after two (2) regular meetings have been held, the Town Commission shall call a special election for the purpose of filling said vacancy until the next general election.
Following appointment, the selected candidate will be required to file a Financial Disclosure Form-1 in accordance with State regulations.
If interested in the Commission seat, please be present at the Town of Inglis Regular Commission Meeting January 13, 2026, at 6pm.
