Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 30 at 9:48AM EST until January 1 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations
between 14 and 22 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Crawford, Northern Erie, and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and
Wednesday morning commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest lake effect snow will persist
near the lakeshore this evening into Wednesday morning. Another
period of heavy lake effect snow will arrive Wednesday afternoon
and overnight, impacting the entire area. Snowfall rates may reach
2 inches per hour at times Wednesday evening.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
