Cold Weather Advisory issued December 30 at 12:35AM EST until December 31 at 9:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
as 26 expected. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as
low as 31 possible.
* WHERE...Inland Volusia and Lake Counties.
* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 1 AM to 9 AM EST
Wednesday. For the Freeze Watch, from late tonight through
Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing. Wind chills this cold could be hazardous for those
without access to adequate warmth, clothing, or shelter.
Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or
grills inside.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
