Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 28 at 1:09PM EST until December 30 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
up to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
* WHERE...Crawford and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 AM Monday to 4 PM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are possible and could make travel
treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning
commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow is expected late Monday
afternoon into Tuesday morning. Snowfall rates will exceed 1 inch
per hour at times.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
