Winter Storm Warning issued December 26 at 12:07PM EST until December 27 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and
10 inches.
* WHERE...Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut and the
eastern Catskills, mid Hudson Valley, southern Taconics,
Helderbergs and the Schoharie Valley in eastern New York.
* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 PM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses will
quickly become slick and hazardous. Travel could become difficult.
The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate to heavy snow will develop early
this evening and will continue overnight, gradually decreasing in
intensity after midnight. Snowfall rates of one to two inches an
hour will be possible at times before midnight. The snow will
taper off Saturday morning to scattered snow showers and flurries.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
