NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all property owners within White Haven Borough that, pursuant to Borough ordinances and applicable law, owners of property abutting any public sidewalk are required to maintain said sidewalks in a safe and passable condition.
**Snow and Ice Removal Requirement**
All property owners shall remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjoining their property **within twenty‑four (24) hours following the cessation of any snow or ice storm**. Sidewalks shall be cleared sufficiently to allow safe pedestrian travel.
Failure to comply with this requirement may result in enforcement action by the Borough, including but not limited to notices of violation, fines, or the Borough performing the work and assessing the cost against the property owner, as permitted by law.
**Sidewalk Inspection and Repair Notice – 2026**
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that **during the calendar year 2026**, White Haven Borough will conduct **systematic inspections of sidewalks throughout the Borough**. Property owners will be **notified in writing of any sidewalk defects or required repairs** identified during these inspections.
All sidewalk maintenance and repairs are **the sole responsibility of the property owner**. Property owners will be required to complete any identified repairs within the time frame specified in the notice.
This notice is issued for the purpose of protecting public safety and ensuring compliance with Borough regulations.
