A Friendly Reminder
All property owners are required to keep the sidewalks clear of snow and safe for pedestrian traffic during snow emergencies, defined by Avalon Borough Code as the 24-hour period of time following the accumulation of one inch or more of snow. Failure to do so may result in citations, fines, and even civil liability if someone is injured in a slip and fall incident. Many residents - including senior citizens and children - walk to bus stops or to school. Please be sure to shovel and salt your sidewalks to keep your neighbors safe!
