Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 13 at 1:45PM EST until December 15 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations
of 7 to 14 inches. Greatest accumulations expected in the higher
terrain of southern Erie County. Winds gusting up to 35 mph will
produce some blowing and drifting snow, especially along and near
Lake Erie.
* WHERE...Crawford, Northern Erie, and Southern Erie Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult due to slippery road
conditions and poor visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Widespread snow and embedded heavier lake
effect snow are expected this evening across northwest PA.
Additional periods of lake effect snow will impact the area
overnight tonight through Sunday night. Snowfall rates up to 1 to
2 inches per hour are expected at times, especially late this
morning through Sunday evening.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
