The Borough of Wesleyville is seeking interested residents to be considered for an upcoming vacancy on Borough Council.

Following the results of the November 2025 election, one Council seat will become vacant at the beginning of 2026. In accordance with the Pennsylvania Borough Code, Borough Council will appoint a qualified resident to fill this position for 2 years until the next election. The appointment is anticipated to occur at Council’s Reorganization Meeting on January 5, 2026.

About the Role

Borough Councilmembers are expected to attend the Borough’s twice-monthly Council meetings, as well as budget sessions and other meetings or community events as needed. This is a volunteer public service position, and no financial compensation is provided.
Each Councilmember serves as one of seven officials who collectively make up the Borough’s governing body. Borough Council is the legislative authority of the Borough and is responsible for setting policy, passing ordinances and resolutions, adopting the annual budget, and providing oversight of Borough operations.
Prior elected experience is not required. The Borough encourages residents who care about the community and are willing to serve thoughtfully and collaboratively to consider applying.

Why you are interested in serving on Borough Council
Any involvement you have had in the community
Please also attach a résumé or a short summary of your professional, volunteer, or civic experience.

Deadline and Selection Process

All Letters of Intent must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 17, 2025. Letters will be provided to Borough Council at its December 17 meeting. Councilmembers will review submissions and consider candidates in advance of the January 5, 2026 Reorganization Meeting, at which time an appointment may be made.

Term of Appointment

The appointed Councilmember will serve through the end of 2027, completing the remainder of the unexpired term.
