Description
Good Morning, Lake Helen Residents,
Please be advised that tree pruning crews will be working throughout the city to trim trees along electric lines. This maintenance is scheduled to continue through the first quarter of 2026. The attached map(s) indicate the specific areas where pruning will take place.
Crews will begin at the substation and work their way outward along the lines. All debris resulting from this work will be cleaned up by the tree crews. However, any debris caused by storm damage or other events unrelated to this maintenance will remain the responsibility of homeowners. Some pruning may also take place along lateral lines, and in certain areas, crews may need to access rear lot spaces.
This notification serves as the notice required by Florida Statute 163.3209.
Why This Is Important:
Trees are a leading cause of power outages, especially during storms. By maintaining clearances around power lines, Duke Energy works to minimize service interruptions and improve overall reliability. Duke Energy Florida has earned the prestigious Tree Line USA designation from The National Arbor Day Foundation for 19 consecutive years, recognizing our commitment to tree care and environmental stewardship.
We utilize a technique known as directional pruning, which is endorsed by the National Arbor Day Foundation and the International Society of Arboriculture. All pruning is done by qualified personnel under the supervision of certified arborists, ensuring the health of the trees while maintaining safe and reliable power lines.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Duke Energy Florida
Committed to Safe and Reliable Service
