Description
Please be advised that the Borough is considering the passage of the 2026 budgets for the General, Sewer, Garbage, and Liquid Fuels Funds at its meeting on December 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Borough Hall.
The detailed budgets are available for public inspection at Wesleyville.gov/budget and at the Borough Office during regular business hours.

General Fund: The budget necessitates a tax increase to 14 mills, due primarily to higher public safety costs associated with the new police contracts, as well as rising insurance premiums.

Garbage Fund: The budget reflects an increase of $12 per quarter ($4 per month), bringing the quarterly total to $74. This remains $24 per quarter lower than neighboring Lawrence Park, which recently entered into a contract with Waste Management at $98 per quarter (plus a bin rental fee if using a WM bin). The increase is necessary to raise wages for the garbage crew and to begin setting aside funds for a down payment on a new truck in approximately five years.

Sewer Fund: The budget reflects an increase of $6 per quarter, bringing the monthly total to approximately $35 per month, which is still considerably lower than Harborcreek ($45/month) and Fairview ($50/month). This increase is needed to strengthen the annual funding dedicated to maintaining and improving our nearly 100-year-old sewer system.

Unless objections are raised, the budgets will be approved on December 3. If objections or requested changes are submitted, final passage may be moved to December 17.
