Description
Winter Storm Warning issued November 29 at 1:45AM CST until November 30 at 6:00AM CST by NWS Lincoln IL

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and
8 inches across much of the area...with higher amounts of 9 to 12
inches along and north of a Macomb to Bloomington line. In
addition, winds will occasionally gust as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central and west central Illinois.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. The strong winds and weight of
snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic
power outages. Occasional whiteout conditions are expected and
will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.
