The City of Taft has been made aware of scam calls targeting residents. Individuals are calling citizens and falsely claiming that their water service will be shut off unless immediate payment is made over the phone. Some callers are even asking for bank account information.
Please be aware:
✔ The City of Taft does NOT call residents to request bank account information.
✔ We do NOT demand payment by phone to prevent service interruption.
✔ Any official communication regarding billing or service will come directly from City Hall through our established channels.
If you receive a suspicious call:
• Do not provide personal or financial information.
• Hang up immediately.
• Contact City Hall directly at 361-528-3512 to verify your account status.
