CRAFTON CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - November 12, 2025
We know the past few weeks have been challenging for residents and commuters as two major sewer separation projects have created a perfect storm of closed streets and detours throughout Crafton. We want to provide you with updates on timelines and address some important safety questions.
⚠️STEUBEN STREET PROJECT: This project is nearing completion. The contractor has informed us they expect to be finished by November 20th. Cold weather has made it challenging to schedule paving, which pushed the end date back slightly, but we're in the final stretch.
⚠️BROADHEAD SEWER SEPARATION PROJECT: This project has two active work locations:
📌N. Linwood & Warren Street: This intersection—a significant traffic artery in Crafton—has been closed during daytime hours for three business days. We expect this closure to be complete as of today.
📌Crafton Boulevard: A second crew is working on Crafton Blvd with daytime closures. This work should be complete by the end of next week.
⚠️EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS: We've received questions about emergency vehicle access during road closures. Contractors are required to contact Allegheny County 911 every day to inform them of which roads will be closed and to coordinate detours for emergency vehicles. This ensures fire, police, and EMS can respond effectively even during construction.
